ARM: dts: r8a7740: Add missing extal2 to CPG node

The Clock Pulse Generator (CPG) device node lacks the extal2 clock.
This may lead to a failure registering the "r" clock, or to a wrong
parent for the "usb24s" clock, depending on MD_CK2 pin configuration and
boot loader CPG_USBCKCR register configuration.

Tony Lindgren [Thu, 30 Apr 2020 16:52:33 +0000 (09:52 -0700)]
ARM: dts: omap4-droid4: Fix occasional lost wakeirq for uart1

Looks like using the UART CTS pin does not always trigger for a wake-up
when the SoC is idle.

This is probably because the modem first uses gpio_149 to signal the SoC
that data will be sent, and the CTS will only get used later when the
data transfer is starting.

Let's fix the issue by configuring the gpio_149 pad as the wakeirq for
UART. We have gpio_149 managed by the USB PHY for powering up the right
USB mode, and after that, the gpio gets recycled as the modem wake-up
pin. If needeed, the USB PHY can also later on be configured to use
gpio_149 pad as the wakeirq as a shared irq.

Let's also configure the missing properties for uart-has-rtscts and
current-speed for the modem port while at it. We already configure the
hardware flow control pins with uart1_pins pinctrl setting.

ARM: dts: omap4-droid4: Fix flakey wlan by disabling internal pull for gpio

The wlan on droid4 is flakey on some devices, and experiments have shown this
gets fixed if we disable the internal pull for wlan gpio interrupt line.

The symptoms are that the wlan connection is very slow and almost useless
with lots of wlcore firmware reboot warnings in the dmesg.

In addition to configuring the wlan gpio pulls, let's also configure the rest
of the wlan sd pins. We have not configured those eariler as we're booting
using kexec.

arm64: dts: allwinner: a64: Remove unused SPDIF sound card

As of v5.7-rc2, Linux now prints the following message at boot:

  [   33.848525] platform sound_spdif: deferred probe pending

This is because sound_spdif is waiting on its CPU DAI &spdif to probe,
but &spdif is disabled in the device tree.

Exposure of the SPDIF pin is board-specific functionality, so the sound
card and codec DAI belong in the individual board DTS, not the SoC DTSI.
In fact, no in-tree A64 board DTS enables &spdif, so let's remove the
card and DAI entirely.

arm64: vdso: Add -fasynchronous-unwind-tables to cflags

On arm64 linux gcc uses -fasynchronous-unwind-tables -funwind-tables
by default since gcc-8, so now the de facto platform ABI is to allow
unwinding from async signal handlers.

However on bare metal targets (aarch64-none-elf), and on old gcc,
async and sync unwind tables are not enabled by default to avoid
runtime memory costs.

This means if linux is built with a baremetal toolchain the vdso.so
may not have unwind tables which breaks the gcc platform ABI guarantee
in userspace.

Add -fasynchronous-unwind-tables explicitly to the vgettimeofday.o

Ritesh Harjani [Thu, 30 Apr 2020 14:57:46 +0000 (07:57 -0700)]
fibmap: Warn and return an error in case of block > INT_MAX

We better warn the fibmap user and not return a truncated and therefore
an incorrect block map address if the bmap() returned block address
is greater than INT_MAX (since user supplied integer pointer).

It's better to pr_warn() all user of ioctl_fibmap() and return a proper
error code rather than silently letting a FS corruption happen if the
user tries to fiddle around with the returned block map address.

We fix this by returning an error code of -ERANGE and returning 0 as the
block mapping address in case if it is > INT_MAX.

Now iomap_bmap() could be called from either of these two paths.
Either when a user is calling an ioctl_fibmap() interface to get
the block mapping address or by some filesystem via use of bmap()
internal kernel API.
bmap() kernel API is well equipped with handling of u64 addresses.

WARN condition in iomap_bmap_actor() was mainly added to warn all
the fibmap users. But now that we have directly added this warning
for all fibmap users and also made sure to return 0 as block map address
in case if addr > INT_MAX.
So we can now remove this logic from iomap_bmap_actor().

Gabriel Krisman Bertazi [Tue, 28 Apr 2020 00:39:11 +0000 (20:39 -0400)]
dm multipath: use updated MPATHF_QUEUE_IO on mapping for bio-based mpath

When adding devices that don't have a scsi_dh on a BIO based multipath,
I was able to consistently hit the warning below and lock-up the system.

The problem is that __map_bio reads the flag before it potentially being
modified by choose_pgpath, and ends up using the older value.

The WARN_ON below is not trivially linked to the issue. It goes like
this: The activate_path delayed_work is not initialized for non-scsi_dh
devices, but we always set MPATHF_QUEUE_IO, asking for initialization.
That is fine, since MPATHF_QUEUE_IO would be cleared in choose_pgpath.
Nevertheless, only for BIO-based mpath, we cache the flag before calling
choose_pgpath, and use the older version when deciding if we should
initialize the path.  Therefore, we end up trying to initialize the
paths, and calling the non-initialized activate_path work.

Fix use after free in get_tree_bdev()

Commit d0da5eb559fa, a fix to get_tree_bdev() put a missing blkdev_put() in
the wrong place, before a warnf() that displays the bdev under
consideration rather after it.

This results in a silent lockup in printk("%pg") called via warnf() from
get_tree_bdev() under some circumstances when there's a race with the
blockdev being frozen.  This can be caused by xfstests/tests/generic/085 in
combination with Lukas Czerner's ext4 mount API conversion patchset.  It
looks like it ought to occur with other users of get_tree_bdev() such as
XFS, but apparently doesn't.

Fix this by switching the order of the lines.

drm/amd/display: Defer cursor update around VUPDATE for all ASIC

[Why]
Fixes the following scenario:

- Flip has been prepared sometime during the frame, update pending
- Cursor update happens right when VUPDATE would happen
- OPTC lock acquired, VUPDATE is blocked until next frame
- Flip is delayed potentially infinitely

With the igt@kms_cursor_legacy cursor-vs-flip-legacy test we can
observe nearly *13* frames of delay for some flips on Navi.

[How]
Apply the Raven workaround generically. When close enough to VUPDATE
block cursor updates from occurring from the dc_stream_set_cursor_*
helpers.

This could perhaps be a little smarter by checking if there were
pending updates or flips earlier in the frame on the HUBP side before
applying the delay, but this should be fine for now.

NFSv4.1: fix handling of backchannel binding in BIND_CONN_TO_SESSION

Currently, if the client sends BIND_CONN_TO_SESSION with
NFS4_CDFC4_FORE_OR_BOTH but only gets NFS4_CDFS4_FORE back it ignores
that it wasn't able to enable a backchannel.

To make sure, the client sends BIND_CONN_TO_SESSION as the first
operation on the connections (ie., no other session compounds haven't
been sent before), and if the client's request to bind the backchannel
is not satisfied, then reset the connection and retry.

4 years agoSUNRPC: defer slow parts of rpc_free_client() to a workqueue.
NeilBrown [Fri, 3 Apr 2020 03:33:41 +0000 (14:33 +1100)]
SUNRPC: defer slow parts of rpc_free_client() to a workqueue.

The rpciod workqueue is on the write-out path for freeing dirty memory,
so it is important that it never block waiting for memory to be
allocated - this can lead to a deadlock.

rpc_execute() - which is often called by an rpciod work item - calls
rcp_task_release_client() which can lead to rpc_free_client().

rpc_free_client() makes two calls which could potentially block wating
for memory allocation.

rpc_clnt_debugfs_unregister() calls into debugfs and will block while
any of the debugfs files are being accessed.  In particular it can block
while any of the 'open' methods are being called and all of these use
malloc for one thing or another.  So this can deadlock if the memory
allocation waits for NFS to complete some writes via rpciod.

rpc_clnt_remove_pipedir() can take the inode_lock() and while it isn't
obvious that memory allocations can happen while the lock it held, it is
safer to assume they might and to not let rpciod call
rpc_clnt_remove_pipedir().

So this patch moves these two calls (together with the final kfree() and
rpciod_down()) into a work-item to be run from the system work-queue.
rpciod can continue its important work, and the final stages of the free
can happen whenever they happen.

I have seen this deadlock on a 4.12 based kernel where debugfs used
synchronize_srcu() when removing objects.  synchronize_srcu() requires a
workqueue and there were no free workther threads and none could be
allocated.  While debugsfs no longer uses SRCU, I believe the deadlock
is still possible.
